Large Raw Material Storage

Large-Scale Raw Material Storage is designed for players with massive raw material storage needs, utilizing the Stack Tower as one of the primary storage tools. The blueprint is divided into three main sections:

  1. Input Section: Includes general storage and Stack Towers.
  2. Extension Section: Retaining Wall and Direct-Connect Storage
  3. Output Section: Includes a mining control tower, refueling station, direct-connect storage, and mining storage.

Operating Instructions

  1. Sequence Deployment: Place down the Input Section, Extension Section (The number you can put depends on how much storage space you want.), and Output Section(If you plan to store Dirt, use -dirt , Sand should also.)
  2. Stack Tower Adjustment: Configure the Stack Tower to your desired length (the height is already preset to maximum).
  3. Control Zone Setup: Set the operational radius for the Mining Control Tower, then assign its dedicated excavators and trucks.
  4. Mining Plan Configuration: Establish your mining blueprint. choose whether you want a flat surface or a larger storage space.(As shown in the pic, digging 4 layers deep yields massive storage capacity, but requires a longer pre-operational setup time).
  5. Logistics Configuration: Connect and configure your preferred logistics methods for both inputs and outputs (whether utilizing trains or conveyor belts).

Key Advantages

  • High Cost-Efficiency: Significantly cheaper to build compared to standard containers.
  • Excellent Space Efficiency: Holds a cargo volume similar to T4 containers within the exact same footprint.(It is also related to mineral density. For example , If it's for storing soil, it'll be similar to T3+.)

Limitations

  • Excavator Reliance: Requires an excavator to extract materials, except when drawing directly from the direct-connect storage.
  • Input Bottleneck: Deposit speeds are strictly limited by the maximum throughput of the Stack Tower.

Technical Specifications

  • Direct-Connect Storage: Maximum input rate of 3,600/min.
  • Overflow Handling: Excess materials automatically route to the Stack Tower.
  • Stack Tower Input: Maximum input speed of 900/min.
  • Maximum Output: Maximum overall output rate of 2,400/min.
  • Stackable: You can stack them in parallel to store various types of raw materials.

Notes: Some materials are relatively loose, such as soil, sand, quartz, etc.
When storing these materials, remember to reduce their height.

Update V2 : added conveyor belt connects the mining storage to the direct-connection storage. make more efficient use of existing storage

Update V3 : optimized conveyor belt improves aesthetics and prevents continuous product circulation between the excavator and the stack tower.

Update V4: added 3-1.Output Section-dirt , I wonder if it's because this material is too loose? In actual use, the excavator keeps digging up things it shouldn't, and then a single rock will be found mixed in.It's unclear whether sand will exhibit a similar condition.

looks great... wanted to try something like this instead of using storages for once ever since the new stackers came....could you add an ingress and an egress station...then it would be just perfect

I don't quite understand what you mean. Are you referring to the train station?

If you're referring to train stations, since everyone uses trains very differently—
for example, I prefer each station to be responsible for one type of material
So I've left the conveyor belt connector open for you to connect yourself.

If you want the layout of my station, you can find my blueprints (although they're not the latest version yet; I'm still experimenting with the long train layout).

wanted to inform about those height adjustments...but you already did that....although you may need to add limestone ,limestone needs to be 13...the preview looks alright but my limestone stacker tower broke the retaining walls at height 14...still rocking the v1 though...with some adjustments to input and output only...basic structure is the same
