Stackable FBR
Stackable Fast Breeder Reactor (FBR)
This is a late-game blueprint designed to theoretically stack over 12 FBR modules, with each module generating a maximum output of 240MW.
Personal Note: I built and test-ran this design myself before ultimately dismantling it (I even tore down my previous NR2 setup). I don't have any power shortages, and my solar power buffs are stacking higher and higher (currently nearing +100%). I honestly just have too much surplus power running around right now...
📦 Blueprint Components
- 1. Blanket Fuel Plant: Focuses on manufacturing blanket fuel using depleted uranium or uranium ore powder. It also accepts plutonium and enriched uranium to produce core fuel.
- 2. Temporary Core Fuel Plant: A temporary setup to kickstart the FBR if you didn’t stockpile plutonium from earlier nuclear stages. Can be safely dismantled after startup.
- 3. FBR Reactor & Generator Set: Features a built-in basic nuclear waste processing system and matching generator sets.
⚙️ Operation Modes
- Mode 1 (Depleted Uranium Focus): Supports up to 6 FBRs. One module runs at 3x Enrichment, while the rest run at 1x Enrichment.
- Mode 2 (Plutonium Support): Every 1/min of plutonium supplied can support 2 FBRs (with enrichment turned off). Supports up to 8 FBRs maximum.
- Mode 3 (Yellowcake Focus): Supports up to 12 FBRs running at 1x Enrichment.
🚀 Startup Guide
- With Plutonium: Supply plutonium, wait for both core fuel and blanket fuel to top off, then start the reactor.
- Without Plutonium: Place down the Temporary Core Fuel Plant. Once core fuel and blanket fuel are fully stocked, start the system and dismantle the temporary plant.
- Expanding Setup: To start a second FBR module, set an already running FBR to 3x Enrichment. It will begin producing the required core fuel for the next unit.
📌 Note:
- The blueprint still includes the conveyor belts originally intended for plutonium and enriched uranium production. However, because I ended up building the FBR right next to the Space Center, those belts are currently left idle.
- All pipelines have indicators. There is also an ultra-high pressure steam pipeline above the water pipeline, which you can use to produce hydrogen or water.
