In 1035 BC a massive volcano, in what is now southern Japan, erupted and is now sitting atop it's own ejections, the centuries past turning the once boiling rock into an oasis. After the south western face collapsed, from the depths came massive amounts of fine minerals, the most valuable hidden beneath Gōruden's shallow lake.
Uranium, titanium, bauxite and thousands of tonnes of gold spewed out and sit ready for exploitation, but you will need to call in your best engineers to get to the rich deposits hidden within this once fiery, unforgiving place.
There is only one start location, made easy enough with close deposits. A long term presence is assured as the lands around Mount Gōruden are rich in resources, but there is work to be done.
Gōruden, in case you are wondering, is Japanese for golden.
(Note that initial gold amount displayed may appear low due to it being buried, but there is more there... much more)
