The first game version still had a different texture under designations on slopes than flat designations. Now they have the same striped texture as flat designations.
When designating a mining area and you want a ramp to be dug, the sloped designations had arrows on them to better distinguish them from flat designations.
I had it happen way too often that i accidently had a ridge dug where I didn't want one and thus excavators not being able to reach following designations.

I'm really struggling to differentiate between ramps and flats at times! Depending on the angle of the camera it currently can be nigh impossible to see and constatly having to pan arround is impractical.
I like the general design of the designators, they work really well when flat, even at different heights and the different types can be differentiated. But slopes are the outlier. There really needs to be something that indicates they are slopes besides numbers.
