Absolute settings for digging and dumping

Although the new dig and dump option is an improvement, I am constantly struggling making dig/dump orders.
I would love to see the settings absolute. ie. When i select F to get level orders I don't want some automatic helper to change it to slopes when dragging from an existing order.
Also when selecting a certain height this is relative to the terrain height. My brain needs absolute value. If I select height -2 all my orders should be heights -2 and not the current terrain level -2
Maybe the younger crowd likes the relative orders. But I think the older people would like an absolute setting better.
Can we have a toggle between the 2?

I don't mind if it keeps referring to the current ground level (as otherwise you'd need to adjust it a lot between different places on your island), but it should not use other mining designations as a reference. If i set it to -2, mark an area, and then try to continue marking it, it goes deeper each time.
Personally I like the helper, but it is sometimes not doing what I'd expect. Having consistent controls would probably be best.
