More Realistic passage of time

I'd like to see a more accurate passage of time. I know it's a big ask, but it takes six months for my trucks to drive from one end of the island to the other. In reality, a person could drive around the Earth ten times over in that span of time. I think one day should be more equivalent to one hour. I understand this might make crop production seem crazy fast, but I can suspend my disbelief easier growing potatoes than I can thinking entire generations of people have come and gone in the time it took to dig a ditch.

The amount of stuff that gets moved per month is vaguely reasonable. The trucks move slowly, but they also carry way more cargo per trip than you might expect.
