You know what really grinds my gears?
When i want to plan a nice mine, with road access, retaining walls etc., and the game doesn't allow me to mine near retaining walls BECAUSE of retaining walls (see image). I would like to see a mining feature (could be a research or a basic tool), that would allow you to mine 1/4 of basic mining square (this would suffice) or even 1/16 of square.
Same could be done for dumping (see left side of the image).
