Add more end goods, and use them not only for your own population, but also to keep your relation villages and locations.
Change the demands for it, so you have to change your poroduction every now and then. You can choose to destroy and rebuild your production chains, or if you have the space keep them idel.
Idle buildings still need a minimum amount of maintenance. If you disable minimum maintenance for certain chains/buildings, they will start to decay. Maintenance and some time will be needed to use them again.
