I'm playing Curland and I'd say there could be ferries, much like ships in Transport Tycoon, slow, but high capacity.
Or a seperate, but costly private ferry for each truck (as in many walker games, such as: EROTMK, etc)
Ferries
Especially now with custom maps containing lots of islands, great scope for ferry networks, cargo ferries + vehicle ferries.
This would be a perfect answer to not having to build land bridges everywhere. Set up a ferry network to transport goods across the water
Even with bridges and amphibious vehicles, having ferries to transport non-amphibious vehicles and also in-map naval transport of materials will greatly improve realism. It will allow "colonizing" other parts of an archipelago map
Also, having to build excavators/haul trucks (that cannot use the bridges) on each island is cumbersome. The alternative is to "teleport" them using the recover option, but this feels a little cheap as it's exploiting the recovery mechanic. A ferry that could move the larger vehicles between islands would be welcome.
