While it is wonderful to receive an alert when something needs my attention (a stranded truck, the inability to dump something, or a storage condition), and being able to colorize the notifications would really be an improvement (when so many can be displayed before I get around to paying attention to that corner of the screen), the Audio Alert can help me with curtailing the Death Spiral because I can then know that something is a "Do It Now" problem before it really becomes a real "Do It Now" situation (Death Spiral).
The alert would display the appropriate text in the selected color (right click the notification to change the color for future such notifications) along with the Audio Alert. The sounding would be just as it does when battle is engaged and the world map is not currently being displayed.
