Turn unstorable crop into organic fertilizer

Have an options to allow farms to compost crop surpluses...could be tied in with organic fertilizer research item.

Tht's alreaday possible. You can turn all plants into compost some way or another.

Yep, that is a solution and as byproduct it can create gas to creating of fuel or hydrogen.

Turning produce into organic fertilizer on industrial scale is no easy feat and nothing that is done without proper equipment such as digesters and mixers, which is reflected in the game currently. To make farms do this automatically and instantly would just be circumventing part of the game mechanics. Plus you would have to deal with the situation when the farm is already full of (potentially more potent) Fertilizer.
