Electric train/electrified(electric) railways

Electric trains have already become an important form of rail transportation. We need non-diesel trains as well, such as electric trains and hydrogen-powered trains.

Yes please, this would be so big qol on trains. I really dont understand why they aint in game already since if you can have diesel loco then you can definitely have electric. In real life diesel locomotives use diesel to generate electric power then powering electric motors integrated on wheel axles. This is because nonexistent/really expensive to make so big torque sustainable shafts material.

Electric Trains could be late tech and reqire transformers like the settlement transformers. One transformer would serve up to X MW. If this is exceeded by accelerating trains they would be "out of fuel".
Multiple transformers are possible of course.

If this is considered, it would be nice if the trains exhibited dynamic power needs. Drawing more power on an uphill incline (more depending on how loaded it is) and generating power on a downhill (again, adjusted by how loaded it is). It would need some balancing to make sure there was no way to cheese it and get infinite electricity, but it looks like the current system would support this.

Electric locomotives could be the late-game trains with very high torque and maximum speed, but maximum torque requires huge amounts of energy and could be adjusted in the Transformer building between 50% and 100%. There should be overhead lines which need to be built next to the rails, and transformers placed every 1000 tiles. This would add a challenge to the upgrade process and offer a benefit by enabling better trains than hydro trains.

It'd have to be the T2 or even T3 train upgrade. Right now there's 3 choices for train fuel, and I'm guessing people mostly pick one and never change it.
Diesel trains are just very convenient, and maybe Hydrogen if a switch is made to hydrogen.
So letting people use T1 diesel/hydro fueled trains for a while until electric becomes possible, where you need to upgrade tracks and locomotives with powerlines would be nice
