Block Signal And Path Signal

Trains

Suggestion:
Please consider adding real-world path signals and block signals to the railway system to enhance the game's realism and clarity. For players unfamiliar with railway system design, real-world signal types are easier to understand, easier to find tutorials for, and more practical for planning train routes. The current mechanism that waits for a free track is not very intuitive—I personally don't fully understand how it works, and I couldn’t find related video tutorials. I believe many players may feel the same. I hope a more realistic signaling system can be implemented. This is just my personal suggestion—thank you!

wont happen probarly as devs are proud of no signal rail system. Why make it more complex? The track has just invisible block sections....

The devs specifically said they designed the system as it is, precisely because they did not want players to get bogged down with understanding and implementing manual signalling. And the system works very well. If a train is "waiting for free track" well, then that's because there is another train blocking the intended line further ahead. Turn on the navigation overlay to see exactly where it's wanting to go and what's preventing it from going.
As for realism, well dynamic blocks and in-cab signals are how trains are being directed today. Static blocks and track-side signals are anachronic technology that is largely being phased out.

Signals would work well as a difficulty setting, similar to ore sorting.
