Traditional use for alum is fertilizer. I would be interesting to have alternative recipe for Fertilizer II made from hydrated alumina rather than sulfur and lime.
Sulfur deficit is a struggle once you start reducing diesel production and fertilizer from alumina would introduce an interesting choice.
