Train, Track priority and Traffic balancing

If every track (at least at junctions) had a number that ticked up with every train that passed and slowly downward overtime, and trains preferred tracks with Lower numbers, then tracks with high traffic would discourage trains from pathing over them, and instead find alternate routes. This would also allow player to set track priorities, by setting said number to Normally rest higher or lower than default.
Obviously distance would also have to be taken in to account when pathing, maybe the shortest path is normal, the second shortest adds one to the traffic number, third shortest add 2 and so on, maybe not linear but something like that.
Additionally if players were able to lock priority to a specific level, it would allow tracks to fill in a specific order in something like a siding etc.
(is a repost of my "Train Track balancing" post just much better done if a admin wants to delete the old one, or merge it in some way with this one.)

Additionally the ability to turn of priority at junctions where you don't need it, would also be nice, if only to allow players to optimize performance in later game, and the ability to have priority on or off by default when building new track to make avoid having to reconfigure a lot of track to one mode or the other.

Should add, that that picture was referring to the scenario in which I did not have another set of sidings on the other side. (no idea why I didn't use this one)

Additionally, you could add to the same UI, Train length Limits to specific tracks/paths, so you can have infrastructure for smaller trains on lines and networks with larger trains, allowing the smaller trains to go in more cramped places but still mix with the larger trains and not have to worry about a larger trains potentially causing issues in that smaller space. If a line has a station that a train cant get to cause it is too long, it wont complain unless there are no other trains on the line that are short enough.
