Adding flexibility to the rails

Would it be possible to make it easier to lay the rails? When you want to create a curve that rises from a previously constructed slope, the rails are really difficult to lay.
Could you allow the rail to have more height, or allow a specially designed pillar to be installed, or allow the train pillar to be installed on the walls? It's really difficult to build a pillar extension with walls; the rail pillars never want to go where you want them to.

I would like to add to this suggestion. Similar to how we already have the SHIFT key to force build tracks/pipes/belts in straight lines, Id like to add a hot key for rail construction that forces a smooth curve for small, medium, and large turns.
