Temporary bracing for pipes/belts/buildings as you dig under them

I like to bury my pipes, it’s super satisfying. Unfortunately that often means digging next to buildings or under belts or other buried pipes and I often find myself playing chicken to see just how close I can get without them collapsing which is annoying when I’m wrong. But removing everything to dig and then putting it all back is also annoying.
It would be great if there was a way to safely temporarily shore up a building or belt or pipe section while digging the trench for my pipes next to it. Maybe a checkbox for a pipe or belt to automatically rebuild supports as necessary instead of collapsing with a high maintenance cost while its checked. Maybe a checkbox box to take buildings out of service but allow much more unlevelness before collapse.
