Sand VS Manufactured sand

I would like to see manufactured sand become more of a useable resource.
I read some where on the wiki that you can use Manufactured sand in place of regular sand. Concrete slabs come to mind.
But could it also be used in things like glass and silicon production?? My biggest problem is never having enough sand or quarts to turn into sand to keep my supply chains going. I always wind up digging into the ocean in my quest for sand.
So if there could be more recipes added to swap out "Sand" for "Manufactured Sand" that would be a big help.

Well, the issue is that you need silica to make glass, and most rock doesn't have much. Melted rock is just rock. When there's a high silica content, you get obsidian, which is cool but not very useful as glass. Sand is the silica in rock that's left over after all the crap dissolves away in water.
Rather than seeing it as them not letting you use rock dust to make glass, you should see it as them letting you use rock dust to make concrete, where silica content doesn't matter.

I think the recipes that make 'manufactured sand' should be changed to produce 'sand'. In other words, delete the Manufactured Sand recipe and replace it with a Sand recipe. All other recipes that currently require Manufactured Sand should be changed to use Sand as the required input.
