Base the production cost estimate of trades on how my factory is set up

If look at the contracts in the trade menu, the game offers me a production cost estimate.
However, that estimate is rough and doesn't take into account how I've set up my production.
e.g. the production cost estimate of Solar Cells tells me the cost in steel, glass and silicon.
None of this is what I'd consider the raw cost (which would be iron ore, coal, sand and limestone)
Of course, you cannot tell me the cost of glass without first checking which type of glass maker I use, or if i use blast or arc furnaces.
Note: I think it would be perfectly fine if the game would base the estimation by a brute-force extrapolation of historical data, e.g. by tracking the completion of receipies (instead of just tracking the production of goods), and going from there. I don't want a perfect, accurate calculation but something I can use to estimate how much sand I get from a trade without first consulting external tools.
