An overpass that allows logistics to go through a Settlement. Normally you would need to build two separate settlements to make this happen.
Mainly thought of as a Rail Overpass, the 3-high gap also allows trucks, pipes, and belts to go underneath. Also allowing you to place services in the middle of your cities, if you so wish.
Having it as an optional tech locked behind [Housing III] seems fair to me, and the building cost of
125 CP1 + 25 CP3 isn't entirely unreasonable.
Summary;
The Overpass will allow logistics to pass through a settlement without splitting up the city.
The Overpass will NOT generate bonus Unity, that's what the squares are already there for.
Overpass for Settlement
An underpass should also be included too, since you overpass imposes a height limit on anything passing under it. But the overpass is effectively a road bridge over a city segment.
@willvette
i'll chalk this up to me not clarifying this in the description, but i didn't mean a road bridge over a city segment, but a city segment in itself.
in the hand-drawn first attachment, i included the hitbox dimensions in the top-right. with the outer dimensions being 28, it matches the other city tiles.
basically acting like a square, but without the 'settlement quality' effect.
@GearMogg [ideas]
Sorry I was on mobile at the time and realized afterwards that I made a typo that messed up the picture I was trying to paint.
I like the overpass suggestion that allows trains, belts, pipes and most trucks though the settlement [I voted btw]. I was pointing out an additional segment alternative; an underpass, which is technically a bridge and a plaza piece. It would allow the taller vehicles to pass though a settlement and it is also more simpler thus can occur sooner [Housing II]'ish.
An alt to my own alt, just a simple cross walk works too...
@willvette
Having an underpass as you suggested is a good idea, and allows for the choice of wanting trains to pass through (overpass), or having a passage for large vehicles (underpass).
with that in mind... i took the liberty of updating the concepts, and i'm stating to wish there was a way to update the original post with these.
erm... whilst they did "technically" add what i wanted, this wasn't entirely what i had in mind...
it does get the job done though. 8/10
