Consumption and Production Calculator

Is it possible to add a tool that when you encircle (or select one by one by holding Ctrl) a group of buildings, it will show a summary of the potential balance of consumption and production of the items involved? For those buildings having multiple recipes, only the primary recipe is counted. I want to know the shortage and surplus of a certain cluster of factories instantly rather that calculating one by one.
