I would like to suggest adding cargo ships that can transport resources between different locations on the player’s main island.
Players could build two or more ports—for example, Port A near a mining or production area and Port B near the main industrial area—and configure an automated shipping route between them. Cargo ships would then regularly transport resources from one port to another without requiring manual control.
The system should support the main cargo categories currently used in the game:
• Loose products, such as ore, coal, sand, slag, and other bulk materials
• Fluid products, such as water, fuel, oil, and chemicals
• Unit products, such as construction parts, mechanical parts, electronics, and packaged goods
Each port could have import and export settings similar to existing storage and logistics systems. Players could select which products should be loaded, unloaded, or maintained at a target quantity. Ships would automatically travel between assigned ports according to their configured route.
The main purpose of this feature would be to improve transportation between distant parts of large islands. At present, transporting resources over long distances often requires large numbers of trucks, very long conveyor belts, or pipelines stretching across the entire island. These solutions can consume significant space, fuel, construction materials, and vehicle capacity.
Intra-island shipping would provide an additional logistics option, especially for:
• Remote mines and quarries
• Oil fields and coastal production facilities
• Separate industrial districts
• Large or geographically divided islands
• Transporting high-volume resources over long distances
Cargo ships should not completely replace trucks, conveyors, or trains. Ports could require substantial construction materials, workers, maintenance, fuel, and suitable coastline space. Ships could also have relatively slow loading times and operate most efficiently only when transporting large

Have you tried building railway bridges and delivering goods via train? It also works well across long distances If yes, what is the problem with that?
