One of the least improved aspects of the game revolves around housing. I would love to see a revamp with the possibility of the following features:
- Multiple housing sizes/types like apartments, house, skyscrapers etc.
- Ability to free-place (Not needing to be attached to housing) stores and shops with new types such as department stores and grocery stores, electronic stores...
- A large Water Tower that acts as settlement water storage and doubles as decoration.
- City service buildings that add to unity such as Fire Dept, Police Department, Courthouse, City Hall, Libraries.
- Ability to build our own internal city roads.
- Waste Water reclamation plant that turns some of the settlement wastewater into irrigation for unity at the cost of high electric.
- Sporting event buildings
- Community events like festivals, farmer's markets, Founders Day fireworks events...
I just think a lot can be done to make the settlement aspect of the game more engaging. Right now, Housing is just a big waste of space (including the required infrastructure) just to have workers for factories.

Honestly, I do not think this would be a good idea at all. It would basically be tacking on a subpar city builder to the base game. People are just a resource, no real difference from coal or trees.
