Current game reactors are a monstrosities in terms of a modularity and "portability". That is why a real life idea sparked my interest, which are SMRs. Some call them a future of decentralized power grid, and in this game it would allow player to build smaller and less resource demanding source of steam which is later converted into mechanical power. It also might help when some of us would like to make a remote outpost for which the "burning" time of nuclear fuel would make a better deal that importing any of known fuel available in game at this point (v0.8.7a). In case anyone wondering what SMR is here you can check it:

Below I have added ratio scale for such a reactors which could be implemented in game eg. instead of 288 steam output, SMR could have 86, the size of typical SMR configuration might be compared to median of land claimed by built nuclear power plants and then used as a ratio for amount of squares each nuclear power plant takes in game.

I can see a case for this *if* we also had to manage powerlines, because then it'd help with not needing to run island-long power lines, and instead having "mini-nuclear reactors" to supply smaller local demand instead. As it is, power supply/consumption is global, so modularity and "portability" are irrelevant stats. Instead, it's fine to just set aside a large area for your power plant(s).
RedSkyFire, I wanted it to be an alternative in terms of costs and setup time and requirements.
