Rail track length counter when building rails.

It would be helpful if when building rails, you could see how long in tiles the track you are building is.
While placing buildings beside is quick for straight rails, when placing rails diagonally, it is quite challenging to know how long they are to make parking spaces or allow enough space for intersections etc.
A UI element at the end of the cursor for the current rail placement length would really help.
