I am using a pen tablet instead of a mouse for ergonomic reasons.
Normally this would function fine, as most mouse features are available.
Unfortunately, rotating the camera is not working because of a missing middle mouse button and the alt+drag is not working for me for some reason (it should work)
Most games have some keys assigned for rotating, like Q and E.
This would be very useful for my setup, but will probably also be useful for others that like to use key shortcuts more.
I am having the same issue - I am using Mouse Without Borders - and this is the only game / program I have this issue on. I would love an alternate keyboard shortcut.
Happy to see the ALT+Q and ALT+E addition, switched direction feels more natural to me, but happy to have the game playable this way.
For the free movement, unfortunately also ALT+right click is not working :(
Could it be there is a special way of mouse movement that might be an issue?

Alt+Left click should be the default for Free Look. Please see if that is working for you.
