Hey there, I am also playing on Linux and I am able to load and play the attached save file.
However, when switching to 0.4.9 while it was in the experimental branch I had to switch from the default compatibility tool to the Glorious Eggroll version, Proton 7.0-3 to Proton-GE 7-27, and now am on 7-28 with the main branch 0.4.9c game.
As a bit of general advice, when posting issues with gaming on Linux please add relevant information about your system like what distro, kernel and GPU you're using, like what you'd see in a protondb post.
