Manual save won't load

Issue description

Just bought the game yesterday and received the following error message when trying to load my manual save from last night. If you need any other details let me know

The game failed to initialize. Please file a bug report if this issue persists.

1. Unzip save file
2. Attempt to load save
3. Receive error message pasted in issue description
