Trucks not obeying export routes for assigned mine control tower

Issue description

I have a mine control tower with trucks assigned. The tower has export routes configured to a set of 3 loose storage bins. The trucks assigned to the tower are not delivering product to the designated storage, instead delivering to a nearby container.

In this picture, we can see that a pickup truck is assigned to the mine control tower and is delivering coal to a nearby storage. However, the destination storage container is not one which has been designated as an export route by the mine control tower.

Reproduction steps

  1. Load attached save.
  2. Locate mine control tower named "Coal Mine Tower" located near the coal patch.
  3. Observe assigned trucks deliver coal to a nearby loose storage rather than the storage marked as an export route.

Update: I realized after reporting this issue that I forgot to assign products to the storage bins marked as export routes. Assigning a product solved the immediate problem, trucks from the mine control tower are now using the assigned storage. I'm leaving this issue report open for now because I still think the current behavior is surprising. I expected the trucks to idle at the mine control tower rather than deviate from the assigned export routes if a destination was not available.

I agree this is a bug. The text for the tool tip clearly states that when using a logistic destination, a truck is set to deliver to a specific destination, "and no where else". When a user assigns any destination, even a single one, it should NEVER choose an alternate destination as this is unwanted behavior.

In my pic below, I have the same issue. I have destinations assigned, and if there is a mixed load, the trucks properly deliver to the sorting center. If they have a full load of iron, they skip all assigned destinations and deliver to a free loose container (there is space in the sorter). Also indicated is that the loose storage unit doesn't even demand more...it's above the "keep full" line. The sorting center is NOT set to reject single product loads, either.

My expectation is that it would idle at the Control Tower (though, I think they should idle in place (or have an available toggle to force them to wait in place or return to the MCT)...but that's another issue :) ).

So regarding the first issue, that's actually working as intended. OP has "reject single load" and storage units are not assigned with products as he mentioned. But I agree the tooltip is vague and does not explain this behavior, so I added: "If a truck is loaded with materials that don’t match any assigned destination, it will choose a target globally."

Regarding issue that @ivanisovich0 [github] posted, I think this is something different and maybe related to logistics zones. This one would be good to investigate. Would you have a save file?

A truck whose load matches none of its assigned destinations picks a target anywhere, which is why it skipped the export-route storages that had no product assigned; we have added this to the tooltip. If you would like it to work differently, please post it as a suggestion: https://coigame.com/Forum/Suggestions
