Issue description

I have followed the tutorial and watched the first video on COI trains. The train makes the journey from the engine station to the pick up station. Picks up the expected product. Travels to the drop off station and unloads. Makes the trip back to the pick up station. At that the train display an error "cannot find path". Then does not move. Only after recovering the train (by clicking recover button) will the train make the same loop once. Only to end up needing to be recovered.

This process for creating and managing trains is far too complex. I have played many railroad simulations and COI is the most obtuse manner in setting up a train network. Please take the time to invest in Railroad Empire 2 and play that. That game is a good example of how to set up trains and stations.

Reproduction steps

  1. Follow the tutorial exactly as described in COI as provided by Help
  2. Complete all the steps to create the "first" train
  3. Launch the train
  4. Wait for it to complete the first product run to come back to the pickup point.
  5. Train reaches the pickup point and stops with "cannot find path"
  6. Recover the train - it should then make one more loop from pickup to drop point and back.
  7. But upon reaching the pickup point the train stops "cannot find path"

You built the wrong railroad tracks. Can't you see that it doesn't have enough length to fully unload?

Ok I sort of made this work. This is not a solution. It's a poor excuse of a work around.
The problem is rectified by not looping trains through a train depot. Even through a train depot shows an in and out these ports do not accept a train to loop through. The ports break the path.

Either make train depots allow loop through paths, or add two more unidirectional ports opposite to the two current ports.
Also, create a "round table" or "grid iron" (see Railroad Empire for grid irons). Creating a minimum radius loop to change track directions does not make sense in restricted geographies.

Just took a look. The rail was not even connected (yellow terminal node) and then some of the directions were mismatched preventing it to find the path. Don't see any bug there.
