WASD skipping all over since patch v0.7.7 installation

Issue description

Since installing the newest patch v0.7.7 my WASD keys now don't scroll the screen properly. The camera slides in the correct direction briefly, then the graphics jump a bit and then it slides again, repeatedly forever until I stop pressing the key. This renders the game largely unplayable as I don't like or use edge scrolling and it is much too slow anyway.

WASD works well. Check the game control settings.

Actually, all graphics are misbehaving, not WASD. The ocean 'jumps' every second or two, cars 'jump' and so on. The game is now in a broken state for me as of this save. I just updated NVidia drivers to latest version without improvement, rebooted, disabled edge scrolling, and tried increasing and decreasing the video quality settings without fixing the issue, except briefly where things ran smoothly for a few seconds and then reverted to previous bad state. I've saved, reloaded, and so on without fixing it.

The problem is with your laptop. Overheating is possible.

Changed from Vsync to 60 frames per second which has fixed the issue for the moment.

And no, my laptop is in perfect working order, not overheated at all, and all other games run fine.
