Issue description

I suppose one of my saves has been corrupted, although I don't know how. When I log in, the screen goes black or blank, it says it's not receiving a signal from the PC, and the graphics card or CPU starts making a lot of noise. Luckily, it works fine with the rest of the autosaves. I'm just commenting to see if this has happened to anyone else.

The corrupted save weighs 37 megabytes and won't let me send it.

Reproduction steps

1 Start game
2 Continue game or load
3 The normal map appears and the screen immediately turns off

Game version and build number

The file is fine. The "d3d11: failed to create staging 2D texture w=128 h=2 d3dfmt=10 [887a0005]" error indicates a Direct3D 11 driver failure, likely caused by a graphics driver crash. To fix it, you should update your GPU drivers, disable performance monitoring overlays, uninstall NVIDIA Audio drivers if applicable, and consider turning off Image Sharpening in your NVIDIA Control Panel.
Troubleshooting Steps:
Update Your GPU Drivers: Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers are the most common cause of this error. Download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card from the manufacturer's website.
Disable Performance Overlays: Any software that overlays performance information, like a framerate monitor, can interfere with the graphics driver. Try disabling these tools to see if the issue is resolved.
Uninstall/Reinstall NVIDIA Audio Drivers: If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, uninstalling and reinstalling the NVIDIA Audio drivers can sometimes fix issues related to Direct3D.
Disable Image Sharpening (NVIDIA): In the NVIDIA Control Panel, try disabling the Image Sharpening feature, as some users have reported it causing similar problems. Check for Other Software Conflicts: Other background applications can also cause conflicts. Try closing unnecessary programs to see if it resolves the error. If nothing helps, then the graphics card is defective.

As explained in this thread, the save is fine and the log shows a Direct3D 11 error from a graphics driver crash; updating the GPU driver and turning off performance overlays usually fixes it. If it still happens on the latest version, please open a new report here.
