Game crushed on pressing I

Issue description

Screen turned black, trying to alt-tab from the game wouldn't work. There was also a reaping audio accompanying this bug. I had to restart the computer to be able to use it.

Reproduction steps

The way it happend is i started the campaign, waited a bit, and as i was trying to find the research tab i pressed I and the game crashed. Tried it on the new save - couldn't replicate the issue. The only game log i found is in the attachment, although i am not sure it has the relative issue information.

I've had this happen a few times, particularly when something else causes a graphics driver crash (such as hardware instability). Sometimes, the game will survive such a crash... but when it does, it won't work properly, and the world turning black- with the UI still visible- is a common symptom of that state, but restarting the game fixes it (though system reboot is often necessary to fix other system-wide graphical glitches...) If the whole screen went black and wouldn't come back until after a reboot, that suggests a major graphics crash that the system wasn't able to recover from.

Disable Overlays: Turn off Steam Overlay, Discord Overlay, and especially NVIDIA Shadowplay (Alt+Z -> Settings -> In-game overlay).
Window Mode: Try launching the game in windowed mode. In Steam, go to the game's Launch Options and enter: -window-mode borderless or -screen-fullscreen 0.
V-Sync: In the NVIDIA Control Panel, manually set "Vertical Sync" for this game to "Off" or "Use the 3D application setting."
Verify Integrity: Right-click the game in Steam -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of game files. Unity often acts up if an asset (Serialized files) is corrupted.

A screen that stays black until the computer restarts usually means the graphics driver crashed. The thread suggested turning off overlays, trying windowed mode and verifying the game files. If it still happens on the latest version, please open a new report here.
