Perform a Clean Driver Reinstallation via DDU
Updating drivers "over" old ones can often corrupt DirectX 11 files. Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).Boot your PC into Windows Safe Mode. Run DDU, select GPU (NVIDIA), and click Clean and restart. Install a fresh driver. If the latest version keeps crashing, download and install the previous stable WHQL driver version.
Clear the DirectX Shader Cache
Old shader caches built by the previous driver can conflict with the new update. Press Win + R, type cleanmgr, and select your system drive (C:). Check the box for DirectX Shader Cache. Click OK to delete it and restart your PC.
Disable GeForce Experience / NVIDIA App Overlay
Driver updates often modify overlay settings, which frequently cause the failed to create buffer error in Unity games. Open the NVIDIA App (or GeForce Experience).Go to Settings and turn off the In-Game Overlay. Temporarily disable other overlays as well (Discord, Steam, Riva Tuner).
Force DirectX 12
If DX11 remains unstable on the new driver, switching the API can resolve the issue. Right-click Captain of Industry in your Steam Library and select Properties. In the Launch Options field, type: -force-dx12
Enable Debug Mode in NVIDIA Control Panel
If the new driver altered power delivery or factory overclock stability: Open NVIDIA Control Panel. Click Help in the top menu bar. Check Debug Mode to temporarily revert the GPU to reference stock frequencies.
