I never will Understand this Pathfinding thing

I cannot understand why the trucks drive to the other end of the map without exaggeration instead of returning to the assigned mining tower and a message is displayed. I have to keep a gas station open for unassigned trucks because I cannot build all the long conveyor belts with Unity. Why don't the assigned trucks take their assigned gas station and develop a life of their own? Now, if I want smooth operations, I have to fence off the area in which I mine. It's a shame that assigned gas stations are not binding. Also, the differences in height are ignored, so the gas station above is more likely to be used than the one below (assigned). You could perhaps consider changing this a bit.

So, both mining towers have been assigned the gas station. Logically, they have to accept this gas station. With options, selecting it doesn't help at all, you might as well leave it out. For me, this is a bug in the path finding because it has been solved better in the past.

are they going to other gas stations/storages? hard to tell from just your pic and description.

Im going to speculate as you mention gas stations, that it maybe that you dont have enough capacity at the station and trucks are reserving what is there and while they are on route other trucks now cant reserve fuel so they will travel and reserve to alternate locations for fuel that are available for pickups. You may just need more stations at each location hooked right up to storages so they fill faster or just storages on their routes as they will fill up from them as well.

This may not be your issue, sorry if not, i only say it cause that is the only time i noticed any behavior like you are stating and i have 400 trucks moving stuff.

Yes, you could be right. I now have a lot more flat land and fewer winding roads, so things are going better now.
