Can confirm that it is still occurring on 0.7.2 b432. (Windows 10, GTX 1060, high quality graphics preset) It occurs inconsistently. Some trees are fine, others not. Reloading the save file fixes the issue.
May be dependent on type of tree chopped down and the associated sprite held by the tree harvester, but would need to look into it more to confirm or deny.
