Ore sorter with multiple inputs leads to clogging.

So, from my rudimentary testing, here's what's happening.

  1. Coal hits 800, refuses to accept anymore.
  2. Conveyor extracts, causing it to fall below 800, even if it is by 1, so it starts accepting more trucks.
  3. Those trucks dump in, continuing to increase the unsorted input
  4. It eventually backs up

There is no way this is an intended feature, as what is the point of the larger ore sorter if that is the case?

A simple fix for this would be to have a threshold that can be set for accepting inputs, Say, only accept trucks if below 600, with 800 remaining the max, much like the storage containers.

What makes me believe this is in fact unintentional, is that the icon that the sorter "Is not accepting anymore of this product" Remains visible, even as more trucks are dispatched to it

Furthermore, From my memory, playing with ore sorting in update 2, this was not an issue.

This is intended.
Lets you input other loads without the coal (or any other ore with full output) from blocking the input.

The fact that it fills halfway is new with update 3.

Do you have a screenshot of it having a full input where trucks can't add any (non-full) ore?

I thought it was a bug, too, when full outputs still accepted trucks. but it seems to limit it to 50% instead of 0 in U3, which I actually don't mind.

If the coal output is full and the input is over 50%, no truck with coal can input.
That leaves room for your other ores to input.

It works well for multiple inputs.
It got annoying with single ore inputs before they changed that to 50%.

Yeah, my issue is more of the potentiality of "What if I have more inputting than it can store"

The building is a sorter, not a bucket. If you want it to be functional while 20 trucks are approaching use more belts.

maximum throughput (sorting speed) is 2400/60.
using the fastest belts which are 450/60 you can designate 5.4 outputs to one ore till you hit the cap on the building.

and you can specify the output to sort many products at once.

Is this still an issue? If it completely backs up, please share a save
