Train refuses to use clear lane.

I set up a train refueling stacker for trains to wait/refuel at. The train that's scheduled to refuel the (honestly too large) fuel line always wants to use this one station to go through, even when there's clear lanes, including one that has no station on it.

Check your exclusive zones? Many are placed automatically for intersections. or maybe im thinking the no-stop sections

That's not the issue. The issue is that it won't use the clear path.

The exclusion area doesn't go back to the station so it wouldn't be an issue, and it's just a refuel station so there's no reason for the trains to pull forward

Doing some more thinking and looking and I think you're right that I need to set some exclusion zones. Trying to set those and seeing if that makes the trains not double up

Trains are still buggy as hell, but try extending that red zone to the right 2-3 sections more. Remove any red sections of track that won't potentially interfere with any other train. Set exclusive sections only to track that could potentialy host trains moving in different directions.

Yup, I added and expanded exclusion zones for now. Hopefully it works, it's a relatively rare error mode

Ok, if that doesn't work, as a last resort, try clearly defining directions of track movement. The game seems to get confused with omnidirectional for some reason.

~~It might be not obvious, but tis is saying
that there is not enough space for the train to stop
at the station or even before it, so it can't reserve track
to even move an inch.

The reason why there is insufficient space, is because
it's trying to align the empty car to the rear-most loading module.

Basically, either extend the destination station & relocate it's modules or
maybe adding exclusion zones at the destination station might help,
but I'm not sure if that will even work.~~

What are you talking about? There's more than enough space

The issue isn't space, there's plenty of space, loading and unloading work just fine.

The issue is that it really wants to use that specific station even when that station is loaded, even though there's a clear path

🤦, I thought for a second that it was just a very long train.
Yeah, the trains don't currently preffer to go around stations if possible.

Can you share a save please? We're working on this sort of problem and it would be good to ensure this one is fixed.

Here you go. This is after I set all the stations to exclusive, but that's an easy reversion.

The main problem with trucks is that they jump in whenever a storage was at max capacity and has dropped a little bit, especially when the storage network is near capacity. This leaves the larger vehicles idle, while also making trucks unavailable for unit storage, which is what they're really needed for.
