Train lines manager does not close if you switch to another building tool or click on a vehicle

Thanks for reporting this! At the moment, this is as per design, opening an inspector does not close other windows. In the case of the trainline manager, I understand it feels a bit odd, but with smaller windows (vehicles overview, population overview), we think not closing them when opening inspectors is welcome.
So marking as WAI for the moment and we will make a decision based on aggregated feedback!

I personally have esc key as my goto "close everything" button and pressed a second time then opens up the menu, that should always work with closing windows.
