On dragon tail there's a floating marker (the one in the front of my screenshot) for gold ore at the first gold mine.

I get a bug frequently where the overlay will not update in some areas for several minutes even if refresheed, not sure if thats what this is?

When I get that, I have to remove it (copper, sand, gold, etc) from the Overlay, then re-add it to get it to update.

I got so used to it, I didn't even think to report it as a bug.

One of the quartz areas on dragontail is a real mess with rock between two quartz layers.

found these, toggling L doesn't change it

Hm, I had a similar spot at the large iron ore area on the other side of the mountain from the dragontail easy start. It just showed a square with no obvious sign of iron. It did disappear when I dug under it, but I’m not sure I actually got any iron from that spot.

There may have been some with the coal by easy start. No idea whether it’s a dragontail specific issue or not though, given the problems with undiggabke/really hard to dig ore spots that get leftover.

This is what I was talking about. It went away when I dug under it, I'm not sure if there even was ore under that spot.

Reloading the save after i dug out the stone removed the indicator

Clicking on the Gold icon in the bottom left of the screen (with the Layers tool active) to remove it from the layers interface, and then readding it should have done the same thing...
