Clicking this should zoom to the shipyard or open its dialog window and allow you to send the ship conveniently.

And as I've suggested elsewere, there should be a button to zoom to the main shipyard. The best practice default is the 'Home'-button.

Yeah, it has been suggested many times as well.

we can take this further while your at it, and have an auto depart when loaded I don't understand why I have to instruct them to load the ship and then, when finished loading I have to go back and tell them to depart.
Related Clicking on an asteroid warning should open the asteroids window (i think this one is fixed with the new experimental)
Added proper handling for clicking on some space station alerts.

Auto depart when loaded makes 100% sense. There are no risks with that.
Generally, sending the ship about to do construction takes too many clicks.
Order upgrade to a mine or village in the world map
Click load ship in the shipyard.
Click depart ship in the shipyard.
Click return ship in the world map.
In about 90% of cases you want all of these steps performed in this sequence as soon as they are ready, so there should be a 1-click button that does all of the above right where you can order the upgrade.
I think we need to ask 'is there any situation in which we don't want it to all be done ASAP in one click'? Because I honestly can't think of any
Maybe if you queued several shipments (e.g. oil rig then cargo ship then village donation) you want to control which shipment is done first?
I'd probably just want it done in the order of upgrading, but I wonder if you could do them sequentially (not having to go back for more parts) with enough fuel tank and engine upgrades?
