Train depart conditions sometimes have inverted behavior (reproducible in save)

Fixed Trains

I had recently noticed that my trains would behave inverted from what I would set in the depart condition. There was a discussion in #issues-discussion on the 8th of July between mostly me and @eryk500 [discord] about it (link). The train would leave the moment one product was filled up when the train is set to Full of: All provided products, and would wait for everything to fill up when set to Full of: Any provided products.
Later the same day my train then stopped working completely, and just wouldn't leave the station despite being fully loaded and the next station(s) being free and having no cargo stored (so accepting trains). I could set any depart condition with no change. I had to delete and re-add the depart condition for it to work again. Now it worked correctly and would follow what the text said (not inverted anymore). I have two save games that show the described behavior. Like mentioned in the discussion, it's the same map, same train, same schedule/line and even same tracks.

As I said, there's a detailed description from me in the channel in that discussion, but for ease of access I have attached the screenshots that show the issue. The first three show the inverted rules (see red highlighting), and the fourth shows the correct behavior from the later save. Again, there's a more detailed description in the original thread. Both save games are also attached.

What if it is not the train upon which the conditions are set? What if it's the station?

please read the post and thread. as I mention there, it's not the station. When you look at the screenshots it would also say "arrival conditions not met" (or something like it). It's why I have circled the "At station" in red where applicable, that indicated it wants to be there and isn't trying to leave. It also wouldn't explain the fact that when set to wait for All it leaves with only some filled (see first two screenshots). In that case, the station is clearly open and it clearly shouldn't leave.

As a side note, with the line setup as I have it, it's literally impossible for the next station to not be open: It doesn't go directly to the drop off station, but to a reverser first (see schedule). That is just a station without modules, and while it has a station limit of 1, there is only a single train on the map at this time.

Thanks for the report. There is a bug where it wasn't "forgetting" that you'd previously filtered to potato, so it was doing "full of potato". Will be fixed in an upcoming patch, but as a work-around, you should be able to go to "specific product", clear potato, then back to "any/all".

Thanks for the feedback and the incredibly fast fix. Out of curiosity, why did this also invert the "full of all" setting?

"full of all" still had the product set behind the scenes, so was doing "full of potato"

Essentially: if a product is set when you go to specific product, it'll use that in place of any/all.

Ahh ok that's the piece on information I was missing, thanks!

Ah one more thing, any indication as to what/why/how the train or schedule essentially fixed itself. I would assume the hidden potatoâ„¢ has gone away in the 2nd save. I hadn't done anything to the train or schedule as far as I remember, but I assume it really is gone there?

You said you deleted and re-added the depart condition? That'd clear it

thecreat [discord] · 1 year ago

that's what I did to make the line run again, I hadn't done anything to it before it stopped working as far as I remember

and I remember switching between the All/Any options to see if that would make it move, and it wouldn't

I'm not sure. I looked at the save and the potato was gone

thecreat [discord] · 1 year ago

ah ok, no worries then, better it fixes itself spontaneously than braking spontaneously. And again thanks for the very quick response and fix!
