When a lab is demolished, the Lab Equipment that went into the build is refunded (in full or partial, depending on difficulty). So, I would expect to get a refund (or discount) also on the Lab Equipment when upgrading Labs.
However, when lab is upgraded, Lab Equipment is not refunded (and there is no discount on the new Lab Equipment). It's actually more beneficial from a materials perspective to demolish and then rebuild new labs, which doesn't feel right.
I mean, there's also no discount on upgrading to BF II, I guess in some cases the dev didn't think it was worth it
There is no discount when jumping two levels of CP. It's only the case with BF2 and High-Pressure Turbine II. But I would rather add a discount to them as well, because it feels silly to me when deconstruction followed by construction is better than upgrade.
are you sure the cost of upgrade is not lower then the cost of demo+building (remember that demo only returns 80% best case)
I didn't check it myself, so I'm asking
if it doesn't only in those cases, then there should be a balancing consideration here
