the issue is: when the foundation of the stacker is starting to get constructed, the gound adjusts it's slope (somehow). this makes the previously safe placement unsafe.
as much as I want this to be a bug, I think this is just how the game works and as un-satisfying as this may sound, when I place the stacker and see this happening, I am calling myself out for a user error and correct it by placing the stacker further back. I don't think this is a bug by definition - rather an inconvenience or game feature you need to work around.
I think the issue is that the ground under the supports is not checked at all when placing.

Question is if it’s worth to work on the old stacker. The new one is way more comfortable. And maybe the will kick out the old one in further updates.
Do you guys still want to work with the old one?
I wouldn't use it any more. before it's available I just dump with trucks and after I can wait to get to the new stacker in research before I feel the need.

never tested this case really. certrainly a good insight. ty
The old stacker is available prior to exploring the world map and prior to having a good fuel production going. Reducing the need for oil and coal in early game can matter. It's certainly not worthless just because there is a new stacker later in the game.
