Original report by hreintke, cross posted from Trucks do nod adhere to Logistic Zones when dumping
Trucks can dump in other zones governed by mining towers in other logistics zones. I've seen trucks from the default zone, picking up from a default zone storage, and then dumping in a named logistics zone, governed by a mining tower also in that zone. Also seen the opposite with a named logistics zone sending trucks to dump in the default zone. Version 0.7.9.
Trucks do not adhere to Logistic Zones when dumping
Looks like the same problem @hreintke [discord] https://discord.com/channels/803508556325584926/803519296864518184/1411680395585654885

Is it "just a crosspost" or do you see the same behaviour
re-naming the remote mining tower that the trucks were dumping at seemed to help for me
Did not help for me.
Thinking of removing all logistic areas/towers and build them up again.
Rebuilding control tower and re-creating logistic zone doesn't fix the issue. Trucks from default zone are still assigned to dumping in other zones (both dumping tile and control tower in different zone).
I have to pause my playthrough waiting for fix because broken Logistic Zones made complete mess of my save on long island map
If possible with your setup you can define specific import routes to the towers with the dumping designations and check "accept assigned only". That way you can kinda manually make them adhere to the logistics zone.
Unfortunately currently Ore sorters can't have export routes for filtered materials. So the only option now is to construct 4 storages for dirt, rock, slag and sand for each ore sorter and assign Export routes for them to control tower which is messy and not compact
That's my intermediate solution too. But that is just the configuration I wanted to avoid using Logistic Zones.
I just noticed this issue today. I've got trucks driving across the entire map to dump products. The whole point of logistic zones is to absolutely, 100%, no exceptions, restrict vehicles to the zone. Under no circumstances should a truck be leaving zone D to dump products into another zone. I should be seeing an error message like 'truck cannot find location to dump' or 'no place to dump in LZ', etc.
For 20 days all new train-optimised large maps almost unplayable due to broken logistic zones regression bug. This is just sad state of events ☹️
Have this issue today. I'm using import routes on the faulty mining towers to circumvent this problem but it's particularly annoying
No updates to this issue in almost 2 months? I was really hoping for a quick-fix on this.
Yeah, seems like it. This is a simple question to answer / bug to patch &
they still decided not to do anything about it: https://discord.com/channels/803508556325584926/1421870154358460541
Not that the have to that immedieately of course
(because of course they don't); but still, that was boiled down
to litheraly 1 single line of C# being written seemingly
incorrectly & they didn't act on that at all.
Should be fixed next patch with Trucks disobeying logistics zones (save included)
