If you downgrade a (full) storage (and therefore overload it) and set its output for belts to the max (blue slider), it does not actually output any items

What happens if you put the blue slider down a notch?
I suspect the code looks at the setting you have as "no output" without comparing numbers.

The blue slider / bar requires the entire storage to become
over-full in order to start & output cargo, which of course
can't actually happen, forcing the structure to disable cargo output.
This is also how it always worked, so I'm unsure why this is an actual issue.
399 / 200 items in that storage so it is "over full", thats because I downgraded it from level 2 to level 1

yea it outputs then of course, and yes thats what I think too,
there normally wouldn't be a reason to the check the item amount for this slider position
but as we can see, with downgrading the storage such situation can exists, so thats kind of an "issue" (not really a big one, but kind of wrong behavior)
could maybe also be "fixed" by just rephrasing this slider position to "never output to belts" instead of the "over x items"
if that's the intended way
🤔, yeah, you're right. I guess that is just an extreme
edge-case scenario, that isn't/wasn't really anticipated to happen.
Still though, when it empties to just full capacity,
then it will still remain not providing items.
yes 100%, but thats what you would expect in that case, empty it until all overflow items are gone to end up with a full but not overfilled storage
I’m thinking that downgrade should not happen until item count is at or below the lower storages capacity.
No different than deconstruction not happening until storage has been emptied. There could be a button to allow you to move the required materials out with unity.
