Trains ignore "After time passed" condition unless there is a load/unload job

It is currently not possible to create a waypoint station or a refueling station where a train waits for X time, because trains ignore the "After time passed" condition unless there are matching load/unload modules or refueling modules.

This appears to make separate refueling stations impossible to create.

See screenshot for an example. I've told trains to wait a ridiculously long time at this station to ensure they get refueled, but they all blast through without stopping.

Further experimentation on another station shows that indeed: if I add a dummy module (a loading module that never contains product) that matches what the train can carry, then the time based condition works, both when used by itself and in combination with a "full" condition.

Quick correction: they don't really "blast through" but, more accurately, they stop and immediately depart.

Screenshot of it happening attached. You can see there's plenty of fuel but the train did not get refueled, despite the "Depart after 1234 days" condition.

Ahh the earlier screenshots are a bad example: the fork breaks it. However, I can also reproduce it without a fork, at least for a station used as a waypoint: time based departure condition is ignored and train immediately departs unless there's (a) matching module(s).

Yep confirmed it is NOT an issue for a refueling station.

That said: trains still ignore time based departure condition for station without matching fuel module and without matching load/unload modules (e.g. waypoint stations)

Why should a train wait for x time at a waypoint station when the arrival conditions are met at the next station?

For me it’s a bigger problem that the trains don’t skip the waiting station when the arrival conditions of the next station are met.

Because I told it to wait, with a departure condition!

I think it's confusing and surprising when certain conditions simply don't work.

Either the UI needs to forbid creating these conditions so it's clear this isn't a supported feature, or they need to work.

FWIW, my use case was a train that I want to kick into action about once per year to take slag from a station that can't be blocked for a year to another station that can't be blocked for a year (they both serve other trains too).

So I want the train to just sit at a siding for a while and occasionally make its round.

Yeah right the option shouldnt be there if it´s not working.
To solve your problem at the slag pick up station. Use the "depart after x time" option there, so it´ll just block the station for the time you setup.

Right, I worked around it in some way, don't remember the details. Definitely not a game breaking bug, just odd to me that it doesn't work 🙂

This issue sadly still persists in U4 and Waypoints and Stations are both affected. Even when adding other conditions like "contains" 100% Acid (on a fertilizer Train) is ignored
