The new water animation is a lot more "alive", which makes it worse in terms of tendency to cause seasickness. It goes completely bad when adding amphibious vehicles, which rocks with the waves. Please restore the U3 option to set ocean quality to low. I was using that one not for GPU load reasons, but precisely to avoid seasickness. Also in low ocean mode, please make the amphibious vehicles not rock and instead behave like on land.
Sadly I have to consider the game somewhat unplayable and amphibious vehicles unusable until this is solved.
Ocean animation causes seasickness
you have "visually induced motion sickness (VIMS) or digital motion sickness"
I suggest you go to a Doctor. as you may have other eye or inner ear issues.

Well, I dont have get seasickness from it. But I agree about the heavy equipment moving around like rubber ducks in a bath tub might be a little much. It does look a lot better however.
And while I haven't got sick(not seasickness) from looking at this one yet. I sure did on the last one and liked switching to the flat one in the last version to give me some relief at times.

You are right. I do have a medical history, which makes me more sensitive, but unfortunately doctors do not have a reset button to get rid of it overnight. Doctors have however managed to reduce the severity of the problem.
Glad you did get checked thr. As for the game lets hope they put that back in for you, Maybe playing mor zoomed out could help till then
Yeah, a toggle for water motion intensity would be great for accessibility
Depending on how they've implemented the waves, it might be as simple as exposing a maximum wave intensity slider that you could set to zero, like one of those beautifully rare days for fishing or boating, or in your case, playing COI (without vomit).
Hi @Captain Jeremy, we removed the option to use old type of ocean rendering, was the ocean not moving in that time?
@nightinggale2699 [discord] did you use the earlier legacy ocean mode because of that?

The variable limitation makes sense i hope this will not too big issue
Would always having low wave intensity help as an accessibility option? Or are we talking about no waves at all?
The safe option would be no waves at all. That should have no risk of failure, hence solving the issue once and for all.
how does this work in other games? Like Anno series? Or other games you play?
It's unpredictably hit or miss with other games. I have played Anno 1800 and don't recall that one specifically to be an issue. I wish I could manage to figure out the pattern to make the issue predictable, but so far it seems a bit random precisely where the line goes for when it becomes an issue.
