The drop-down for priority is not available in the Sandbox mode. It makes it much harder to test things that involve priority (or include priority in a blueprint that is developed in the sandbox).

It seems to have somthing to do with opening a brand new Sandbox save.
If one has a saved one it seems to not be an issue.
There are no priorities on normal Storage-s, Radioactive waste storage & Transport-s (on brand new Sabdbox saves).
Most normal machines & Thermal Storage-s seem to have their priority settings (on brand new Sabdbox saves).
There might be more structures with this issue, but I haven't tested more of them yet.
Also, this also happens on the experimental branch as well.
As much as this may be a unpopular opinion, I think it should not be allowed for you to make blueprints in the sandbox mode at all. you can pause the game as is, which basically gives you the sandbox.
I am fine with testing existing blueprints for throughput (i.e. load then in sandbox), but personally I am against the option to be able to design blueprints in a creative environment and just bang them out while playing.
That makes little sense to me, because that just poses an arbitrary restriction.
You can make the blueprint in a normal game & then use it in the Sandbox.
Basicaly that would force the players to do what they could do anyways
in the Sandbox itself, instead of having to load a normal save.
And also there's the Community Hub, which you can import blueprits from anyone,
including those who might have unlocked the missing tech early & done all of the math for you.
This feels/seems just very backwards/silly to me.
perfectly fine - as I assumed - unpopular opinion. I know that you can download blueprints and that is perfectly fine. but even a downloaded blueprint needs you to figure out everything else around it. Trucks are not automagically bringing materials there, neither do trains.
if you have the same map in sandbox as in the game, you can plan out all the locations, design all the machines and so on. which would be the most ideal scenario for planning ahead.
so why not just play the game and use the tools you have available there (which to me there's mostly no difference between sandbox and game)?
or in short: just play the game - the journey is the goal
Well one big reason I can think of is upgradable blueprints. For those you need to have all the tech for the final version before you can figure out the layout to make the lower-tech versions. That's probably 95% of what I'd use sandbox for in the first place.
I'd happily discuss the topic of blueprinting in sandbox, but not within the scope of this issue.
