Fluid dump has less inventory than a T2/T3 truck - causing confusion

//EDIT: for clarification read comments!

T1 trucks are loading goods according to the option I marked ("allow partially loaded trucks" NOT checked). However, I recently introduced T2 trucks by advancing in the game and T2 trucks are not respecting the setting. So far I have only seen them do so with fluids, but I feel like this is a bug...

In the picture you can see a T2 truck just loaded sewage from a tank. there was enough fluid available to fill the truck. however, the truck is driving away with only 1/3 of it's cargo hold (i.e. 20). The destination is a dumping outlet, which was empty at the time the truck was loading.

This is happening consistently. I have never seen a truck take a full inventory of sewage on that route (fluid storage to dumping outlet). sometimes it's 40 and sometimes it's 20 fluid. I have not had the chance to look at the T2 truck taking other hauling jobs as the two I have have been focusing on the sewage exclusively. I will report back.

The save at the moment of the picture is provided.

It might be because there was either 40 or 20 Sewage in that Liquid dump building &
there simply can't be stored any more than 60 units, so they're alternating loads of 40 & 20 Sewage 🤔.

as I understand it the inventory of the dump is 200.

I'll boot up the game and have a look. at any rate, even a T3 fluid truck should be able to fit the entire load at once? at least that is what I would assume...

you are correct! the 200 is the rate, not the inventory. the inventory is 40, indeed!

So, yeah, they can't possibly be fully-loaded, since the target can't accept all of that at once.
Probably the most reasonable workaround is to put a storage down to recieve the truck loads instead.

yes, this also my assessment. however, it's not clear immediately. I have more than 1700h in the game and that got me

I thought that the inventory of buildings recieving items from trucks was intentionally reduced in U4 🤔.

green_gecko [discord] · 7 months ago

must have missed that. but then I guess it should be documented? best would be in the tutorial. just make the player build a tank for the dump and avoid confusion.

looking around, the buildings I would assume getting hit with this still have 40 inventory if you set them to truck import. maybe the inventory size was streamlined and during that, some or a lot of them got hit by that? trying to find a reference to that reduction.

Ok, maybe I just imagined that. Sorry for missinforming 🙏.
But I swear, I've seen someone say somehting along those lines, relatively recently 🤔.

But I know that the inventory size for machines is just a multiplication
of their base (forbidden-truck-delivery) inventory size, by some static
multiplier that applies to all machines. And I think that was reduced.

Liquid dumps are not meant for accepting full T2 trucks, once you have T2 trucks, build a storage if you wish to maximize efficiency
